Job Title: Cut Packhouse - Packing Operative

Location: Vitacress Herbs, Runcton

Contract Type: Permanent

Shift: 4 on 3 off

Pay Rate: £11.84ph

You may already have factory, manufacturing, or warehouse experience, which is advantageous, but no experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

We seek a dedicated individual to join our Operations team as a Packing Operative. The successful candidate will work closely with the Line Leader and Machine Operator to grade, weigh, and pack herbs efficiently, prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This role involves standing for extended periods and working in a warehouse environment with loud machinery. Our Packhouse offers a friendly, inclusive atmosphere, and a pleasant herbal aroma throughout the day. This is a full-time position on a 4 on / 3 off rota, with daily hours up to 12 hours based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety Regulations.
2. Contribute to achieving company vision, values, and interests.
3. Meet daily targets, assist in production line setup, and maintain high-quality standards.
4. Use correct scales program, ensure accurate pack information, and check sealing.
5. Remove packed products daily, stay trained, and report issues promptly.
6. Maintain housekeeping standards through continuous cleaning.
7. Follow instructions on products, scales, and speeds.
8. Operate machinery safely and accurately.
9. Report team issues to supervisors.
10. Promptly remove packaging from the line.
11. Stay informed on customer requirements for weights, counts, and labels.
12. Qualify in food hygiene and set an example for hygiene standards.
13. Contribute to Continuous Improvement projects.
14. Provide information flow to management and staff.

Qualifications and Skills

4. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
