About the team:

Cancer Grand Challenges is a global funding initiative launched in 2020 by Cancer Research UK and the US National Cancer Institute. Since its inception, it has funded over 1200 researchers across 16 countries, with a portfolio exceeding $400 million across 16 interdisciplinary teams. We are now planning for the next decade of this initiative.

As a Science Content Manager, you will join a small, growing team supporting the CGC brand. You will create content across various channels, including webpages, presentations, meeting materials, and event experiences. You will also support income generation efforts through partners and philanthropy by crafting relevant content.

When working at Cancer Grand Challenges, you will be employed by Cancer Research UK.

What will I be doing?

  2. Translate complex scientific information into engaging content to inspire diverse audiences;
  3. Create content for webpages, presentations, meeting materials, and events;
  4. Lead the development of content to support income growth through partners and philanthropy, including fundraising materials and funding applications;
  5. Support stewardship of partners and donors through reports and communications;
  6. Manage our science stories, building a repository of research findings, impact, and personnel to inform content creation;
  7. Build strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.

What are you looking for?

  • Excellent scientific knowledge; a higher degree (PhD or MSc) in biomedical or related fields is desirable.
  • Proven ability to translate and communicate science content for various audiences.
  • Experience in storytelling for a specialist audience, especially funding and philanthropic groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creative flair.
  • Experience managing projects, developing plans, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills, with diplomatic influence and consensus-building abilities.

Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do.
