Role Description

Are you passionate about discovering and analyzing software vulnerabilities? Do you enjoy researching real-world exploits and developing security improvements? Join the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) as a Security Researcher within the Vulnerability & Mitigations Team. Your work will be crucial in analyzing vulnerabilities, shaping security updates, and informing security research across Microsoft.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze security vulnerabilities reported by researchers worldwide and advise on remediation.
2. Reverse engineer and patch live exploits reported to MSRC.
3. Innovate in security mitigations and hardening techniques.
4. Identify trends and insights to influence Microsoft’s security strategies.
5. Develop tools to enhance vulnerability detection and assessment.
6. Collaborate with experts across Microsoft to grow your security expertise.

Qualifications

We seek a security researcher passionate about Windows/Linux security research, with qualifications including:

1. Ability to read, understand, and debug C/C++ code.
2. Effective communication of security design and implementation.
3. Experience with security research on Windows/Linux systems.
4. Knowledge of vulnerabilities, exploitation, and prevention methods.
5. Proficiency in developing security tools and automation.
