Job description

The Royal Marsden is one of the leading cancer centres in the world, renowned for its care and treatment. This position is based at The Royal Marsden in Sutton, primarily working across the Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centre (RDAC) and Outpatients.

Our new state-of-the-art Cancer Centre opened in Sutton in July 2023. The post holder will work in the outpatient department within this new facility.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Coordinating and supervising shifts, ensuring effective communication within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
  2. Applying clinical judgment and decision-making regarding patient needs and long-term care plans.
  3. Participating in the organization and management of clinical trials, including patient recruitment, education, monitoring, and liaison with trial sponsors.
  4. Taking personal accountability for nursing care in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
  5. Promoting a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  6. Engaging in infection control and care quality initiatives.
  7. Contributing to continuous service improvement and safeguarding high standards of care.
  8. Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
  9. Supporting a positive working environment and staff morale.
