JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

- Perform duties in line with scope of practice and company audiology protocols.
- Provide diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and rehabilitative treatments for hearing-impaired adults.
- Offer direct access audiology services.
- Medico-legal work, occupational health work, or other suitable tasks may be required occasionally.
- Maintain compliance with AHCS registration & HCPC code where applicable.
- State-registered Audiologist (AHCS).
- Membership of the British Academy of Audiology (preferred).
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess hearing of adult patients referred from Primary Care.
- Conduct hearing aid assessments for adults.
- Fit analogue and digital hearing aids for adults.
- Perform real ear measurements where appropriate.
- Review and maintain hearing aids for adults.
- Carry out hearing aid repairs and cleaning.
- Take earmould impressions.
- Plan aural rehabilitation programs for hearing-impaired adults.
- Provide ENT cover.
- Perform tympanometry, ear syringing, and microsuction.
- Ensure personal and professional development.
- Manage assessment, fitting, follow-up, and aftercare services appropriately.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and senior staff.
- Provide services across various ICBs in line with national guidelines.
- Utilize patient management systems to record clinical activity.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and clinical audit standards.
- Manage stock and report equipment issues.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance regarding complaints.
- Ensure clinical environments are clean and fit for purpose, reporting non-conformities.
- Conduct patient domiciliary visits when necessary.
COMMUNICATION
- Communicate effectively with NHS Account Team, clinical and administrative staff, and patients/carers.
- Participate in training meetings.
- Report clinical incidents and maintenance issues per policies.
- Coordinate with GPs and referral sources.
TRAINING
- Take responsibility for personal development and mandatory training.
- Maintain State Registration via CPD.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Update knowledge of professional body and AHCS requirements.
OTHER
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Adhere to policies and contribute to a positive work environment.
