We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Leeds.

A little more about your role

• Develop professional and technically competent reports, liaise with specialists and clients, and utilize efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services.
• Manage and deliver project work effectively, including robust project financial management.
• Assist in managing team resources and allocating appropriate project resources.
• Manage, motivate, mentor, and develop professional staff.
• Support all aspects of project delivery, including client liaison, contractor and sub-consultant coordination, public and statutory consultations, quality control, and management of specialists.
• Supervise ground investigation and construction activities on-site.
• Participate in profile raising and bidding activities within the Leeds and wider UK teams.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

• Technical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a solid understanding of underlying principles.
• Chartered Engineer or nearing Chartered status.
• Basic design skills for retaining walls, foundations, and slope stabilization solutions.
• Experience in consultancy, demonstrating good commercial awareness and strong relationships with clients and contractors.
• Proven experience in delivering geotechnical projects, including high-level report preparation.
• Understanding of client requirements and the ability to influence contract specifications.
• Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.
• Experience in geotechnical desk studies, designing, procuring, and supervising Ground Investigations (GIs), and checking Ground Investigation Reports and Geotechnical Design Reports per Eurocode 7 : Part 1.
• Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK design codes, ground investigation, and construction contracts and specifications.
• Ability to operate and interrogate geotechnical software for designing civil engineering projects, including foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stability.
• Skills to critically evaluate work by others, including drawings, calculations, and reports, with a proven track record of doing so.
