Territory Sales Manager

Location: Field Based – East Anglia

Salary up to £35,000 depending upon experience + car + potential bonus + fantastic benefits package

Due to expansion, we are recruiting for a Territory Sales Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend key customer management with fast-paced new business development and to contribute to our ambitious growth plans within the Purina team.

A day in the life of a Territory Sales Manager …

This is an exciting and diverse role. You will be responsible for driving new business, growing relationships with clinics and clinical groups, and achieving top-tier activation of all NPD and brand initiatives within Purina accounts.

You will drive the conversion of vet practices within corporate clinics and clinical groups to stock PRO PLAN and PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets as first-line products to meet territory sales targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and recommending the PRO PLAN and PPVD brands through effective account management and new business acquisition.
  • Converting new clinics in line with targets, using strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Meeting KPIs for Strategic Plan focus areas, including NPD and in-clinic initiatives.
  • Managing customers through optimized contact and visit strategies, including routine visits, reviews, staff training, category relays, and advocacy days.
  • Maintaining high technical product knowledge to facilitate conversations at all practice levels.
  • Delivering tailored training to meet practice needs and achieve sales and recommendation goals.
  • Understanding customer strategies and competitor activity, and sharing insights internally to inform channel planning.
  • Developing and implementing Customer Business Plans aligned with channel strategy to meet targets and ensure excellent execution of sales fundamentals.

We seek candidates passionate about nutrition with proven sales success, strong relationship-building skills, commercial acumen, and results-driven focus. You should be self-motivated, experienced in securing new business, adaptable in communication, resilient, and influential both internally and externally.

Ideal skills and experience include:

  • Proactive with commercial awareness and strong numeracy skills
  • Business development experience
  • Veterinary channel experience (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of companion animals or the pet industry (beneficial)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; IT literate and analytical
  • Organized, with good planning and prioritization skills
  • Willingness to travel within the designated territory
