Assistant Manager

About the Client

Our client, a highly successful independently owned gastro pub in Woking, is currently looking to expand their management team of four and grow their senior team with a view to future progression and expansion. This is a well-regarded food-led business with a great reputation and a strong focus on staff welfare. The role offers a structured work-life balance, including one weekend day off per week. They seek a strong, energetic, hands-on manager with a genuine passion for the industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. The pub features a warm, rustic interior and offers a varied, high-quality, fresh menu alongside an extensive wine and drinks selection.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Deputy and General Manager to ensure the smooth daily operation of the restaurant. Key duties include:

1. Coaching and developing team members to excel
2. Maintaining the highest levels of customer service at all times
3. Ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers
4. Coordinating communication between front of house and back of house staff

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-quality/high-volume restaurant or pub environment, demonstrating leadership and proactive team development. They should be enthusiastic, energetic, and committed to excellent customer service. Specific requirements include:

• Experience as a Supervisor, Restaurant Assistant Manager, or similar in hospitality
• Strong communication and team management skills
• Availability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends

Additional hospitality certifications are a plus.

Hours

5 days out of 7, including 2 double shifts and 3 straight shifts.
