Are you a competent and multiskilled Refurbishment and Maintenance professional or builder looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking experienced Refurbishment Operatives to join our newly established Refurbishment team, working on refurbishing our new children’s homes and schools as part of our expansion plans. You will be part of a dedicated team, performing planned refurbishment, maintenance, and repair tasks such as plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrics, and gardening.

You should be comfortable and confident in carrying out a variety of refurbishment, maintenance, and property upkeep tasks across the region to support our growth.

You will report to our Maintenance Manager, Graham, and be part of a team of three.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in refurbishing homes/schools ready for opening and complete other maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the wider maintenance team across our properties.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and report issues to management.
  • As a key holder, be responsible for locking and unlocking the premises daily.
  • This role may require taking annual leave outside the standard school holiday period from July to September.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Experience in general maintenance, with the ability to perform tasks to a high standard.
  • Proficiency in plastering, building, and decorating to provide comprehensive maintenance services.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective liaising at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in the safe use of powered hand and bench tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with IT systems; current use of Jira for job management.
  • Full driving license and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays.
