Position: Reservoir Maintenance Operative

Location: Henfield (including travel across sites with some overnight stays)

Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience

Requirements: Must have a UK driving license

Job Summary:

Join Southern Water's in-house service reservoir cleaning and inspection team. Responsible for all reservoirs across regions, covering cleaning, inspections, maintenance, and repairs internally and externally. Work to a schedule that meets regulatory standards.

This role involves outdoor work year-round and working within a confined space/rescue team. You will maintain and report on the condition of reservoirs and assets across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight, playing a vital role within the team.

Qualifications:

• Pass grades A-C in GCSE Maths and English
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Knowledge of water treatment processes (preferred)
• Experience with water quality regulations (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Rescue team qualification (Level 3 C&G Emergency Rescue and Recovery of Casualties From Confined Spaces) is desirable
• Training to Level 2 C&G Working in High-Risk Confined Spaces is desirable
