Job description

Mitie is seeking a BMS Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves integrating and commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS), supporting Mitie's goal of achieving "net zero" for clients through installation and commissioning of BMS controllers and IoT equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BMS Solutions: Utilize a range of BMS solutions, including Trend, Tridium, and Distech.
2. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
3. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to understand plant and site requirements, ensuring accurate software strategies and schematics.
4. Design & Schematics: Develop standard strategies and schematics for easy understanding and adoption by design and commissioning teams.
5. Mentorship: Mentor controls engineers to develop skills and enhance team knowledge.
6. Commissioning: Take ownership of commissioning BMS installations and graphics head end systems on-site.
7. Surveys & Proposals: Perform surveys and prepare proposals and quotes for new projects.
8. Support: Assist the BMS Operations team with PPMs and reactive callouts as needed.
9. Verification: Verify software strategies during commissioning and document system operation.

Experience & Skills:

1. Trend Expert/IQVision: Experience at the Trend Expert level, capable of modifying energy-biased software and schematics.
2. Software Tools: Familiarity with Trend SET software; experience with Tridium N4 is desirable.
3. Integration: Ability to integrate systems using protocols like Modbus, MBus, and BACnet.
4. IT Networks: Good understanding of IT networks and IP configuration.
5. Relationship Building: Strong skills in building relationships with customers and suppliers.
6. Metering & Protocols: Knowledge of metering and open protocol solutions.
