An established industry player is seeking a Fire Safety Risk Assessor to oversee fire risk assessments across numerous properties. NELFT manages approximately 133 buildings across London, Essex, and Kent, with a mix of owned and leased properties. This role involves overseeing the Trust's Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) throughout these locations, liaising with PFI and landlords to ensure the delivery of FRAs and other fire-related documentation.
The postholder will manage digital software for auditing all fire risk assessments and fire drills. Reporting directly to the Fire Safety Manager, they will assist in fire safety duties, including attending and providing fire warden training, advising on fire policies, and incident reporting.
Key responsibilities include conducting fire risk assessments, creating action plans, and holding regular meetings with the estates team and building managers to ensure completion and sign-off of actions. The postholder will serve as the Trust’s Fire Safety Risk Assessor, responsible for developing, planning, and implementing fire risk assessments, assessing performance and compliance, and promoting a safe working environment.
They will provide central advisory and information services on fire safety matters, based on relevant legislation and standards such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, and associated NHS technical memoranda.
The role may involve responding to fire safety incidents, which can be stressful and traumatic, requiring efficient and effective management.
Induction and Welcome: New starters will join on the first Monday of each month, undergoing a comprehensive two-week induction at our head office in Rainham, Essex, including mandatory training, systems training, equipment allocation, and engagement sessions with senior management and the executive team.
Probationary Period: The position is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or those already in a probationary or bank role.
High Cost Area Allowance: This role attracts a 15% supplement of the basic salary, ranging from £4,551 to £5,735.
