NELFT has around 133 buildings over London, Essex, and Kent, some owned and some leased. This post involves managing the Trust’s Fire Risk Assessments across the Trust and liaising with PFI and landlords to ensure the delivery of FRA's and other fire documents.
The role includes managing digital software and auditing all fire risk assessments and fire drills.
The postholder will report directly to the fire safety manager and assist in fire safety duties, including attending fire warden training, advising on fire policies, and incident reporting.
Responsibilities include carrying out fire risk assessments, creating action plans, and holding regular meetings with estates and building managers to ensure completion and sign-off of actions.
Reporting to the Trust Fire Officer, the post holder will be the Trust’s Fire Safety Risk Assessor, responsible for developing, planning, and implementing fire risk assessments, assessing performance and compliance, and promoting a safe working environment.
The role involves providing advice on fire safety, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and being involved in fire safety incidents, which may be stressful and traumatic but must be handled efficiently.
All new starters will join on the first Monday of each month, undergoing a comprehensive induction including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation, held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This post is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt, unless currently part-way through a probation or a bank staff member.
This post attracts a 15% supplement of the basic salary, ranging from £4,551 to £5,735.
