Job description

Camberley Health Centre is seeking an experienced, qualified phlebotomist to join our friendly practice team. The role involves working 15-20 hours per week across various shifts.

Main duties of the job

Primary Responsibilities:

The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Obtaining patient consent for blood sample collection
  2. Performing venepuncture according to practice protocols
  3. Maintaining accurate patient records on Emis
  4. Labeling, packaging, and storing samples correctly
  5. Using the specimen log effectively and resolving discrepancies
  6. Ensuring timely sending of samples to the laboratory
  7. Maintaining liaison with laboratory staff at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust
  8. Collaborating with the nursing team and seeking guidance when needed

Additional tasks may include:

  1. Participating in practice audits
  2. Engaging in initiatives to improve service delivery and patient care
  3. Supporting shared learning within the practice
  4. Completing opening and closing procedures as per rota

We are a friendly practice serving a diverse community of approximately 10,000 patients, with a multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, healthcare assistants, administrative staff, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians.
