The Role:

This position is within our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.

You will develop a comprehensive understanding of our product range and manufacture ROV assemblies from components to final testing and approval. You will also learn about real-world performance and perform fault analysis on returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and repair electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and schematics for assembly and fault diagnosis.
  • Perform soldering and electrical loom wiring to high standards.
  • Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency with relevant IT systems required for the role.
  • Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
  • Apply 6S principles and lean methodologies to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate professionally with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Act ethically, with integrity, and in the best interest of the business.
  • Manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Use judgment and initiative to develop solutions to daily challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Required Skills:

  • Interpret electro/mechanical/hydraulic schematics accurately.
  • Proven mechanical engineering knowledge and experience.
  • Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices (e.g., IPC standards).
  • Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB level using proven methods.

Desirable Skills:

  • Component-level diagnostics experience.
  • Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and multimeters.
