Your new company
Our client is a well-established, privately owned consultancy with a strong presence in the UK market. They are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their Edinburgh office. Candidates must have experience delivering electrical design on building services projects within the UK or Ireland.

Your new role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will ensure the sustainability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems across diverse building types. Your responsibilities include contributing to electrical design across various projects, working closely with the electrical team. Your duties will encompass designing and delivering electrical solutions, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Designing buildings in a multidisciplinary environment to maximize value and minimize environmental impact
• Producing detailed design calculations for all electrical aspects
• Creating specifications, design notes, and reports
• Developing design drawings from conception to detailed design
• Participating actively in all project stages, from feasibility to completion, across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, energy, sports, health, and mixed-use developments

What you'll need to succeed

• A Master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field
• Working towards Chartered status with CIBSE or IET
• Proficiency with Trimble/Amtech, Dialux, or other electrical design software
• Familiarity with BIM processes using Revit, Revitzo, or other industry-standard platforms
• Experience in designing HV, LV, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarms, security/access control systems, renewable energy electrical systems, and earthing across various projects
