Partnering with Universities, industry leaders, and the UK’s CATAPULT network, the AIC is a focal point to collaborate, innovate, train, and develop skills for today and tomorrow. This exciting opportunity requires candidates to work in an agile, diverse, and fast-paced environment developing cutting-edge technologies for aerostructures and future fuels integration. The successful candidate will deliver expert structural analysis and collaborate across our design, R&D, systems, and test teams in a rapid design, build, and test environment. Role Purpose

To act as the discipline expert for Structural Analysis for a particular work package or process.

This opportunity, based at our Prestwick campus, offers:

  • 37-hour working week (half day Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural analysis and review and approve the work of Structural Analysis team members and contractors to fulfill customer expectations.
  • Work with multi-functional teams to develop new concepts and architectures to provide improved or novel solutions.
  • Identify Structural Analysis methods and techniques to be utilized for particular work packages.
  • Define Structural requirements to be met for specific work packages.
  • Define specific Structures skillset training required for particular work packages.
  • Assess potential Structural Analysis tools and methods for the Business Unit and recommend to senior management.
  • Act as coach/mentor to junior Structures Engineering staff.
  • Support the Chief Structures Engineer in preparation for gate reviews.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Graduate in Engineering discipline with typically twelve years of practical experience or equivalent recognized experience.
  • Experience in applying tools, techniques, and the use of specialized equipment.
  • A thorough understanding of general theories and applications covering a broad knowledge of Structural Analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Company Procedures and standards relating to engineering, health & safety, and environment.

Decision Making Authority

  • Approve others' work to ensure Company, Customer, and Regulatory requirements are met.
  • Identify and implement methods and techniques within own work area.
  • Assess and recommend methods and techniques for the Business Unit.
