About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Director (Major Projects) to join our Estates team in a key leadership role.
The Capital Projects Programme team manages the delivery of all capital works across the UCL Estate, from inception to operational phases. This includes new builds, refurbishment, adaptation, infrastructure, and public realm works. Our projects are bespoke facilities designed and constructed to industry-leading standards.
The AD (Major Projects) will lead the completion of several key projects currently in delivery and develop pipeline projects within the portfolio.

You will work with stakeholders and project partners to develop and deliver projects, supported by your team of consultants and project managers.
About you
You are an experienced professional with a formal qualification in engineering or construction, supported by degree-level education or a qualification meeting PAS standards, and membership in a relevant professional body. You have expertise across the built environment lifecycle, providing strategic and technical advice at a senior level, with a proven track record in leading major capital projects in complex urban settings.
You excel in managing high-performing teams and fostering a proactive safety culture. Your strengths include strategic planning, procurement, contract management, and delivering innovative outcomes in safety, sustainability, and inclusivity.
With exceptional communication and leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and strong technical expertise, you are adept at delivering results in high-profile environments.
