The Technology Directorate provides information and system technology services to all business areas in the Bank as part of Central Services. Our key objective is to support the policy and operational divisions to meet the Bank's stated objectives.

Job Description

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role for an IT team leader for the Messaging & Telephony platform team. This position sits alongside another team leader who will manage the M365 platform team. Both roles will work with the Platform Lead, who leads the Communication & Collaboration platforms within Digital Workplace.

The Digital Workplace domain is responsible for selecting, delivering, and continuously improving a portfolio of digital services to help colleagues across the Bank to collaborate, communicate, and be productive regardless of role, device, or location.

The core responsibilities of the role are:

  1. People management - Support and develop individual team members to maintain a motivated, high-performing team. Handle staff-related matters including performance, absence, and sickness.
  2. Delivery management - Manage agile processes, coach team members, ensure commitments are met, oversee incident, request, and problem processes, and support project planning and financial management. Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and deliver a positive user experience.
  3. Product ownership and operational oversight - Collaborate with the Platform Lead and solution designers to develop strategy and roadmaps, prioritize work, and ensure services are healthy, secure, and compliant with policies. Occasionally coordinate major incident responses.

You will likely spend around 40% of your time on people, 40% on delivery, and 20% on product ownership, with flexibility based on demand.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about people management and empowering colleagues, with experience in managing agile teams.

Number of direct reports: 4

This role supports flexible working patterns including job share, flexible hours, part-time, and compressed hours. A minimum of 40% in-office attendance (preferably 50%) is required, which can be spread across the month to accommodate various working patterns.
