Job Details

As Senior Mechanical Engineer at ZELP, you will provide instrumental engineering input and play a fundamental role in the development of ZELP's technologies. This role requires specific expertise in thermal engineering and fluids experience. Your responsibilities include:

1. Breaking down complicated thermal systems into simpler models based on "first-principles" / theory
2. Designing concepts/physical prototypes and robust test methods to validate theory / internal understanding
3. Hands-on prototyping and building of test samples
4. General concepting and ideation
5. Supporting key design decision making alongside other senior and lead engineers
6. Providing quality drawings and CAD for prototyping and fabrication of parts
7. Producing and maintaining thorough and accurate design project documentation
8. Supporting other departments (Hardware, Software, Animal Science) with problem-solving and other project activities

Experience / Proven experience with:

1. Thermal engineering / heat management
2. CFD / Thermal Analysis
3. New product/technology concept development
4. 3D CAD (Solidworks, OnShape)
5. 2D drawings and concepting
6. DFM
7. Manufacturing methods (3D printing, CNC'ing, vacuum casting, etc.)

Has had exposure to:

1. Heat exchanger design
2. Hands-on testing
3. Managing external suppliers
4. Product data management / Engineering changes

Nice to have experience in:

1. Gas sensing and sensor housing
2. Fluidics / pneumatic systems
3. Farm / Agriculture experience
4. Consultancy
