Job description

The HCA role requires the holder to have many clinical competencies, for which training will be provided. These include:

  1. Skilled administration of insulin
  2. Administration of low molecular injections
  3. Venepuncture
  4. Bladder and bowel monitoring
  5. Uncomplicated urethral catheterisations

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career in community nursing. Please only consider applying if you:

Responsibilities include:
  • Undertaking non-complex clinical procedures under supervision, such as venepuncture, subcutaneous injections, sample collection, blood pressure monitoring, medication administration, wound and catheter care, according to training and competencies.
  • Empowering patients to regain health and independence in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Liaising with clients, families, colleagues, and other professionals to ensure quality care.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records following Trust policies.
  • Reporting patient progress and status to senior team members each shift.
  • Working flexibly across community teams based on service needs.
  • Undertaking training to develop clinical skills as required.
  • Responding effectively to complaints and escalating them appropriately.
  • Assisting registered staff in care and treatment, participating in reviews.
  • Promoting equality, confidentiality, and non-discriminatory practices.
