Job Description
Job Overview
- Site management / supervision of allocated contracts to ensure that principles of safety, quality, performance, and profitability are maintained at all times.
- Responsible for managing the site, including efficient management of all labour, plant, equipment, materials, logistics, movements, interfaces, risks, and opportunities.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining all JCA quality control processes on the project and providing feedback where necessary.
- Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, industry standard guidelines, employer requirements, and JCA policies and procedures.
- Identify risks to health, safety, quality, and the environment, and engage with stakeholders to ensure adequate risk management.
- Ensure full implementation of all safe systems of work at all times.
- Maintain reporting documentation in accordance with contract requirements and JCA policies.
Main Duties
- Attend site meetings as directed by the Contract Manager.
- Liaise with stakeholders during meetings and provide site progress reports, including photos, 2-week lookahead, issues log, and risks register.
- Perform take-offs, select and order materials following JCA procedures.
- Ensure proper storage of materials and maintain site stock for daily operations.
- Review site reports, designs, and drawings; provide practical feedback on installation methods and improvements.
- Liaise with the site team to identify challenges and implement solutions.
- Use construction software/hardware applications to record progress, snagging, diaries, and checklists.
- Manage and update the contract programme and produce short-term/medium-term updates.
- Report on the operation of the programme, labour, opportunities, health and safety, and other matters in contract reports.
- Handle subcontractor site documentation such as RAMS, permits, and void closures.
- Meet with subcontractors regarding site progress, resource allocation, and safety performance.
- Provide motivation and leadership to the workforce.
- Manage site welfare, ensuring it is clean and compliant with statutory and company requirements.
- Create and update daily site diaries with comprehensive information.
- Maintain site equipment, plant, and material registers, ensuring security and proper storage.
- Oversee site security, including access control and perimeter security.
- Conduct HSE audits and ensure closure of any actions.
- Undertake site inductions and record documentation.
- Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks, recording as necessary.
- Operate and maintain snag lists, liaising with supply chain to close out issues.
What we are looking for
- Must have qualifications or demonstrable knowledge and experience.
- Construction and/or Engineering Qualification NVQ Level 3 or higher.
- CITB SSSTS certificate or equivalent.
- IOSH Supervising Safely certification.
- CSCS card relevant to role.
- First aid at work certification.
- Experience supervising projects of similar size, value, and industry sector.
- Leadership and management skills aligned with JCA's brand image.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, methods, and processes in construction and engineering.
- Valid driving license.
