Job Description

Location - IPT SCS (North Acton) London - 3 times per week on site.

Salary: Base salary: £63,050pa to c.£78,800pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, along with a range of competitive benefits detailed on our website.

The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for leading commercial activities within the Delivery teams, overseeing major infrastructure contracts essential for HS2's vision. The role involves working closely with the supply chain and contractors, providing independent commercial support to the Head of Commercial.

About the role:

The role includes:

  1. Providing commercial assurance to the Head of Commercial for all delivery-related commercial activities, including contract management, administration of NEC3 obligations, cost verification, and performance analysis.
  2. Supporting contract and programme performance reviews, dispute resolution, and providing commercial advice.
  3. Developing opportunities for project savings and fostering a collaborative, innovative culture within the team.
  4. Managing relationships with key contractors and reviewing estimates at all stages.

Leadership responsibilities:

Leading and reviewing estimates, managing commercial resources, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

About you:

Skills:

  • Experience managing high-value, complex infrastructure contracts and developing commercial strategies.
  • Proficiency in managing commercial relationships, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to develop commercial policies and teams.

Experience:

  • Managing commercial teams in major infrastructure projects, preferably within public sector contexts.
  • Experience with procurement, tender processes, and commercial reporting systems.
