Linux Administrator

My client, a large consultancy, is seeking a Linux Administrator for a 12-month contract inside IR35, based in Cambridge. The role offers 2 days per week remote work and requires 3 days per week on-site.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Strong experience in running and maintaining on-premise data centres.
2. Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS).
3. Experience with enterprise storage, including ISCSI and SAN technology.
4. Prior experience using automation tools such as Ansible and Foreman.
5. Knowledge of IP Networking, DNS, and Firewalling.
6. Proficiency with Python, Shell Scripts, and command-line tools.
7. Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies.
8. Demonstrable experience with remediation projects, ideally within a PCI-DSS certified environment.

Additionally, the candidate should have:

1. Strong experience with ITSM tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
2. Good knowledge of cloud computing platforms; ideally AWS.
3. Experience with Hyper-V, Microsoft AD, AAD, and VMWare.
4. Experience maintaining OpenStack.
5. Experience with build systems, source code management, TeamCity, and GitLab services.
6. A Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science preferred) or equivalent experience.
