Description

As a graduate in this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and be supported in developing your skills in procurement and supply chain management. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll support the efficient and timely delivery of materials, goods, and services to our construction sites under national supplier framework agreements. This role provides the perfect opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Procurement Support
  • Assist in managing the procurement of materials & services for ongoing housebuilding projects through long-term framework agreements.
  • Help maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of construction materials and resources.
  • Support the management of contracts & supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Supply Chain Coordination
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure they have sufficient resources & capability.
  • Assist in resolving any issues related to delivery delays, stock shortages, or damaged goods.
Supplier & Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a point of contact for suppliers and internal team members, ensuring clear communication and resolving any queries or concerns they may have.
  • Assist in negotiating supplier agreements & contracts, helping to secure competitive terms.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Assist in preparing documentation for product reviews including data collection, issuing tenders, analysis, and preparation of core implementation documents.
  • Analyse spend & supply chain data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Help prepare regular reports for senior management on supply chain performance, including material costs and supplier reliability.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes and make recommendations for increased efficiency and cost savings.
  • Support the development of sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • A keen interest in supply chain management and the housebuilding sector.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to work in a business environment and to hone their negotiating skills and commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Some experience or internship in procurement or construction is helpful (e.g., placement year, summer internship).
  • Interest in sustainability and environmentally responsible sourcing.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the supply chain and construction fields.
  • Works well in a collaborative environment and is open to contributing to team efforts.
  • A detail-oriented approach, particularly in analysis and preparation of reports.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to handle challenges and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, especially when dealing with tight construction schedules.
