Job Description:

Our client, a leading multinational organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join their team as Strategic Planning & Business Development Manager for Northwest Europe.

This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to senior leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic growth, identifying inorganic development opportunities, and supporting long-term business planning across key European markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess potential M&A opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.
• Coordinate with internal M&A teams and external advisers on due diligence, financial modelling, and legal negotiations.
• Prepare business cases and strategic presentations for executive stakeholders, including the Executive Committee and Board.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, public institutions, and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor market and technology trends in energy, logistics, and infrastructure to identify new opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic planning and business development efforts across a complex, matrixed, international structure.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic planning, corporate development, or M&A (industry or advisory).
• Degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Proven experience in matrixed and international environments.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to develop and present complex business cases.
• Full professional fluency in English (C2); Spanish is advantageous.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% across Northwest Europe.
