What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll be the first hire in this role, reporting directly to the Head of Data. This is a hands-on position where you’ll run requirements gathering workshops and drive data engineering capabilities. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in BI, Data Science & Analytics, and Data Engineering to align data strategies and optimise infrastructure.

Your work will include:

1. Data Transfers: Transferring large tables from SQL Server to Snowflake and ensuring smooth data flow across the organisation.
2. Integration & Standardisation: Integrating data across tools like Azure Data Factory, Python, and Snowflake, standardising processes, and building scalable systems.
3. Machine Learning Integration: Supporting ML workflows by building and optimising data pipelines, with experience in fine-tuning or deploying models to production.

About you

You’ll bring strong expertise in:

1. Azure Data Factory: Experience at scale is highly valued.
2. Python: Advanced skills for building and optimising data pipelines.
3. SQL: Proficient in querying and transforming data for accuracy.
4. ETL: Experience designing and managing ETL processes for data integration and transformation.
5. Cloud Environments: Hands-on Azure experience, including setting up and managing production environments.

Bonus points for experience setting up data environments from scratch, including server configuration, or working with SQL to Snowflake integrations. Experience navigating data security challenges in sensitive industries like healthcare will also set you apart.
