Job Title: Technical Sales & Business Development - Architectural and Structural Glass

Industry Sector: Bespoke Aluminium Solutions, Entrance Doors, Bifolding Doors, Sliding Doors, Windows, Curtain Walls, Production and Installation, Architects, Specification, Property Owners, High Net Worth Individuals

Area to be covered: Northern focus

Remuneration: £40,000 - £50,000 Basic + 1% Commission

Benefits: Mileage and full expenses, car possible after probation, full benefits

Role Overview

The Technical Sales Manager for Architectural and Structural Glass will:

  1. Engage in field sales selling high-end architectural and structural glazing solutions, providing a technical design-led service.
  2. Promote bespoke aluminium solutions including entrance doors, bi-folding doors, sliding doors, windows, and curtain walls, covering both production and installation.
  3. Spend three days a week on the road visiting customers, with two days working from our client's M62-based office and showroom.
  4. Focus on new business development, targeting high net worth individual self-builders, architects, and property developers.
  5. Aim for revenue targets of circa £1m in year one and £1.5m-£2m in year two.
  6. Handle projects ranging from £10,000 for entrance doors to £50,000 for architectural glazing systems and £50,000-£150,000 for architectural projects.
  7. Spend approximately 80% of time with property owners and 20% with architects/property developers, creating quotes, nurturing projects, and developing new business.
Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have experience selling architectural or structural glazing solutions.
  • Possess capability and empathy to sell to high net worth individuals, architects, and property developers.
  • Be able to sell premium products and high-end technical services.
  • Be familiar with entrance doors, bi-folding doors, sliding doors, windows, curtain walls, or similar solutions.
  • Be motivated to earn commissions.
  • Be capable of qualifying inquiries via phone and establishing hot prospects quickly.
  • Have access to the M62 office and showroom.
  • Possess the ability to read architectural drawings (advantageous).
  • Have proven sales techniques and solution-selling skills.
  • Excel in relationship building from factory floor to architects.
  • Have strong technical knowledge.
