Job Description:

Job overview

KMPT provides a wide range of adult mental health and learning disability services to our local population of 1.8 million people in Kent and Medway. Each year, we care for over 2000 people in our hospitals and 54,000 people in the community.

There has never been a more important time to work in mental healthcare. Every year, across the UK, around 1 in 4 people will experience mental ill health. As the largest provider of mental health care in Kent and Medway, we recognize the vital role we play beyond delivering outstanding care.

This newly created role is looking for an experienced digital content and communications officer to join our communications and engagement team. You will help develop content for our brand new intranet and support the delivery of two new external websites: The first, for our community mental health program, named Mental Health Together, which is transforming how mental health care is delivered in the community. The second is delivering a new front-facing KMPT website.

Working alongside the head of digital communications and brand, you will play a leading role in developing content across all three websites. Your excellent written skills mean you can craft high-quality web content aligned to our voice, tone, and Plain English ethos. You are an expert in WCAG writing principles, their application, and are able to help educate others on this journey.

Main duties of the job

You will be an innovative, creative, and experienced digital communications officer with a knack for developing scroll-stopping content that informs, inspires, educates, and nurtures our online audiences. Your creative and collaborative nature will enable you to work effectively with teams across KMPT to achieve better digital outcomes.

1) Collaborate with the head of digital communications to develop our new intranet and support the delivery of the new front-facing KMPT and Mental Health Together websites: supporting project management, content writing, and CMS maintenance.
2) Content Management: Write, create, edit, and publish engaging and informative content across intranet, websites, and social media, ensuring alignment with our voice and tone.
3) User Experience Enhancement: Conduct user research, analyze feedback, and implement improvements to enhance user experience and content quality.
4) Digital Communications: Work with departments, teams, and content creators to align messaging and maintain brand consistency. Plan and execute campaigns across website, intranet, and social media using best practices.
5) Information Architecture: Develop and maintain the information and content architecture for the intranet and websites.

Working for our organization

Join us in the Garden of England, where we combine excellent professional development opportunities with a high quality of life.

We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability, and specialist services to 1.8 million people across the county.

You will be part of a friendly, passionate, and diverse team committed to delivering excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.

Our work environment fosters kindness and compassion, with everyone from cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman recognized as vital to providing exemplary service.
