Job Description

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.

With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

You will be Responsible For

  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride, providing natural, great service.
  • Encouraging customers to give feedback via the ‘have your say’ survey.
  • Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
  • Applying your training to ensure safe working practices.
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Being knowledgeable about store performance and understanding your role in delivering profit.
  • Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  • Clocking in and out accurately at the start and end of shifts.
  • Keeping yourself, colleagues, and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment.
  • Following the think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Responding promptly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts, explaining your actions to customers.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized store environment.
  • Occasionally leading shifts in the absence of your Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • Following all training to ensure safety and compliance.

If applicable, for stores with a Post Office Local: Your duties will include managing daily post office operations, which requires passing a financial and criminal background check. If these checks fail, the job offer will be withdrawn.
