We have an exciting opportunity to join the Operations team as Continuous Improvement Manager at our Johnstone’s Food Services & Lees of Scotland sites, part of the Finsbury Food Group.

Lees of Scotland is known for Snowballs, Teacakes, and Meringues, manufacturing confectionery since 1931 for major UK retailers. Johnstone’s Food Services is a leading UK supplier of pre-packed cakes, including caramel shortcake and chocolate brownies, to retailers and coffee shops like Costa Coffee and Co-Op.

This role offers valuable experience within one of the UK’s largest bakery businesses, with opportunities for growth. At Finsbury Food Group, we invest in our teams and support development.

Key skills include teamwork, strong communication, process improvement, and change delivery. Food science, manufacturing background, and continuous improvement experience are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Support the ‘Operating Brilliance Program’ (OBP) to drive continuous improvement.
• Facilitate training on OBP, LEAN, and PPI principles, developing internal CI capabilities.
• Assist in decision-making and problem-solving to meet profit targets through projects on labour, materials, and overheads.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, service, cost, and people KPIs.
• Work cross-functionally, building positive stakeholder relationships.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in process improvement and supporting change management.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and flexible.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; holds a driver’s license with travel flexibility.
• Background in food processing, bakery, or engineering, with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Qualifications at HND or degree level in food science, engineering, or bakery.
