RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the safe operation of the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea LNG fleet.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of all LNG shipboard and shoreside procedures for the LNG Fleet in alignment with RCG.
- Verify and drive the design and implementation of all related LNG systems on board newbuilds.
- Lead initiatives related to the SSC Fleet Energy Efficiency and Carbon Emissions reduction.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, including software solutions, to reduce fuel consumption and enhance sustainability.
- Develop strategic plans for IMO environmental regulations, including EEXI, CII, and decarbonization strategies.
- Conduct pre-feasibility analyses and create business cases for energy retrofits.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to improve vessel performance.
- Develop energy management systems and track operational efficiency.
- Coordinate energy retrofit investments to generate savings with stakeholders.
- Establish an advanced operational database and analytics system to improve performance.
- Perform financial modeling related to decarbonization and renewable energy strategies.
- Identify operational improvements to grow revenue and reduce costs, including fuel savings.
- Advise on hull maintenance and coating strategies based on data analysis.
- Create and lead digitalization initiatives, including mobile operations and energy management platforms.
- Collaborate with industry vendors and attend conferences to stay updated on regulations and technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement projects and maintain positive relationships with internal teams.
- Report regularly to the executive team on retrofit and coating strategies.
- Maintain an energy toolbox for ongoing efficiency enhancements.
- Promote diversity and inclusive thinking within the team.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Background in Marine, Industrial, Mechanical Energy Engineering, or Naval Architecture with experience in shipping or classification societies.
- Master’s degree in relevant engineering fields; PhD is a plus.
- 15+ years in vessel operations management, energy management, or fleet optimization with team supervision experience.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and programming.
- Effective communication skills across departments and levels.
- Experience in project management and cross-functional activities.
- Financial planning and analysis skills.
- Knowledge of ship systems such as HVAC, auxiliary, and propulsion.
- Long-term financial modeling and project management expertise.
- Understanding of cruise line operations is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Deep knowledge of vessel operations and energy management.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain strategic and financial plans for fleet retrofit programs focused on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability.
- Explain variances from budgets in collaboration with finance teams.
