Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled 3rd Line Desktop IT Engineer for a contracting role in the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure and desktop support, with a strong background in resolving complex technical issues. This role requires the ability to commute to our Stevenage office on a hybrid basis and offers excellent day rates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced technical support for desktop and infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems, escalating when necessary
• Manage and maintain desktop environments, including hardware and software configurations
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of systems
• Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures in line with Defence sector requirements
• Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Support the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure and desktop support
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to commute to Stevenage on a hybrid basis
• Security Clearance (SC) preferred
