Job description


Our client, operating in the defence and security sector, is seeking a skilled Telco Cloud Support Engineer for a contract position. This role involves working remotely during UK hours, with occasional visits to customer offices in London or Reading. The expected start date is around June 2025, and the initial project duration is until the end of 2025, with a possibility of extension.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support and maintenance for cloud-based telecommunications systems
  • Implementing and managing container orchestration tools such as Helm and Kubernetes
  • Ensuring efficient operation of Linux, networking, and cloud environments including vSphere, OpenStack, and AWS
  • Creating and utilising scripts in Python, Bash, or Ansible for system automation
  • Collaborating with team members and clients during workshops and whiteboard sessions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly
  • Integrating CI/CD pipelines and fostering DevOps practices
  • Applying knowledge of SDN/NFV architectures and network automation for optimised performance


Job Requirements:

  • Experience with Helm, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools
  • Proficiency in Linux, networking, and cloud environments such as vSphere, OpenStack, and AWS
  • Competence in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ansible
  • Strong English communication skills for client interaction
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of SDN/NFV architectures and network automation
  • Knowledge or experience with Open-Source MANO (OSM) or similar NFV orchestration frameworks is beneficial
