Are you prepared to join an outstanding team that is at the forefront of advanced technology? If you are a driven and experienced Systems Engineer looking for a chance to contribute to top-tier Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) systems, then we have the ideal position for you!

Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

DragonFire is a cutting-edge weapon system development programme that has achieved significant success with several high-profile trials. As a LDEW System Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing advanced defence systems, contributing to design, development, and integration of LDEW systems, ensuring performance and reliability.

MBDA aims to develop DragonFire into a world-class, deployable LDEW air defence system through innovative technology experimentation and rapid development across key Systems Engineering domains such as requirements, design, performance analysis, and certification.

What we're looking for from you:

• System Design Engineering experience
• Initiate and drive trade studies and system development activities
• Experience with complex systems, ideally in defence
• Ability to communicate architectures and ideas clearly
• Experience elaborating user requirements with design authorities
• Support functional design with requirement flow-down
• Share technical information effectively with customers
• Build strong relationships with partners
• A desire to develop and grow the Systems Design team
• Experience with system architecting tools (e.g., DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody) is desirable
• Knowledge of lasers or maritime system integration is highly beneficial
