You will be responsible for setting up and operating Mazak CNC milling machines to produce high-tolerance components for various sectors, ensuring quality and reliability in your work. Salary 13.00 - 20.00 GBP Hourly + dependant on experience
Ambitek are seeking an experienced CNC Miller with Mazak machine experience to join our client, a premier UK-based precision engineering company supplying high-tolerance machined components to the Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Power Generation, and Rail sectors.
Operating from their advanced facility in Coventry, they offer a full suite of in-house services, including CNC machining, EDM, deep hole drilling, and grinding.
Role Overview
As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and potentially programming Mazak CNC milling machines to produce precision components to customer specifications. You'll work on small batch, high-value projects, often using exotic materials, and contribute to maintaining the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC milling machines, specifically Mazak with Mazatrol control
Work from engineering drawings to produce components to tight tolerances
Select and fit tooling, make offsets and adjustments as required
Conduct in-process inspection using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Maintain machine condition and ensure equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use
Identify and resolve machining issues and suggest improvements to machining processes
Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and team members to ensure production targets are met
Adhere to company quality, safety, and environmental procedures
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Miller in a precision engineering environment
Proficient with Mazak milling machines and Mazatrol programming
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
Confident in using hand-held inspection equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
Days Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00
Nights Monday to Thursday 18:00 - 04:30 (+ 1/3 of basic rate)
