Job summary

Welsh Government is recruiting an Application Operation Engineer – Pobl to support and enhance Microsoft Dynamics 365 in a production environment. The role requires MS SQL tools, incident resolution and Azure DevOps knowledge as part of a Hybrid, pan-Wales post.

The post is part of the HR & Finance System Applications Support Team and offers a starting salary of £37,111 with a range to £45,378, in a full-time, hybrid setting with opportunities for continuous learning and contributing to service

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting, testing and maintaining Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications in a production environment.
• Experience with MS SQL tools, incident resolution, system configuration and the delivery of system enhancements.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Provide second- and third-line support, investigating, reproducing and resolving complex production incidents.
• Undertake configuration changes to HR and Finance applications to support issue resolution and system enhancements.
• Contribute to regression testing during system upgrades and patching cycles.
• Document business requirements and produce functional specifications and user guidance.
• Provide support across the team and wider service as required, undertaking other duties as needed.
• Engage with Business Process Owners to advise on ERP best practice and standardized processes.
• Analyze and validate business requirements using workshops, interviews and process mapping.
• Support delivery of change requests ensuring alignment with Welsh Government strategies.
• Collaborate with Analysts and stakeholders to design and deliver system/process improvements.
• Assess impact of changes on wider finance activities and accounting practices.
• Develop and maintain functional knowledge of HR and Finance systems to support users.
