Job summary

Hurstpierpoint College invites applications for a Technical Production Manager to lead on Performing Arts productions in our 350-seat New Bury Theatre and supporting spaces. You will drive the technical provision for over 40 productions each year, including musicals with orchestral provision, drama, and dance, while mentoring students in lighting, sound, and production workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in theatre operations including programming and operating shows.
• Ability to communicate with directors, staff, students and external providers.
• Knowledge of lighting desks, sound consoles, and general stagecraft.
• Willingness to learn new systems quickly.
• Safety awareness and ability to perform risk assessments.
• Mentorship and training of students in technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Lead on lighting and sound design and operation for productions.
• Plan and manage technical resources and schedules.
• Mentor and train students in technical aspects of theatre.
• Collaborate with Theatre Manager, Drama Department and external providers.
• Support evening and weekend events as needed.
