Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for flexible supply roles in Barnsley. The position offers opportunities across a well-established Multi-Academy Trust, with competitive daily pay and access to extensive CPD courses.

Successful candidates will have a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, a valid Enhanced DBS, and the right to work in the UK. About-the-role support will include long-term placements and potential permanent opportunities within partner schools.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children or young people in a school or educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships quickly.
• Proactive and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• Genuine enthusiasm for helping pupils succeed academically and personally.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom support to teachers and pupils across a range of year groups.
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide one-to-one or small group support to help pupils achieve their full potential.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence in their learning.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Work confidently in schools within the Multi-Academy Trust.
• Exhibit flexibility and professionalism across schools within the Trust.
