Job summary

Ambitions Personnel is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for a busy hospitality venue in the United Kingdom. You will thrive in a high-volume kitchen, delivering exceptional food and service while assisting the Head Chef with menu delivery and daily operations.

Role offers a permanent, full-time position with typical hours 12:00pm–9:00pm, 5 days out of 7 on a rota including weekends. A competitive salary £30,000–£34,000 depending on experience and a supportive kitchen team await.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for producing high-quality food with strong hygiene standards.
• Ability to stay organised and perform under pressure.
• Leadership experience supervising others and training staff.
• Own transport is essential due to the venue location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes to a consistently excellent standard.
• Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and ensure smooth service.
• Assist the Head Chef with food preparation, service and menu delivery.
• Manage and maintain your designated kitchen section.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Supervise and support junior kitchen staff where appropriate.
• Help train and develop members of the kitchen team.
• Ensure food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, stock rotation, storage and waste management.
• Work efficiently and effectively in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
