Job summary

The Education Specialists are seeking a caring, patient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wavertree, Liverpool. You will support children with SEND to access the curriculum and develop confidence in an inclusive setting.

The role requires teamwork with teachers and the SENCO, adherence to safeguarding practices, and a commitment to helping every pupil reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND experience advantageous.
• Experience in a primary school or SEND setting preferred.
• Ability to follow individual support plans and guidance from teaching staff.
• Safeguarding awareness and DBS checks expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage in classroom activities.
• Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations to the school team.
