Job summary

Balfor Education is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher with QTS to join a specialist school in West Wickham, supporting pupils aged 5–19 with SEMH, Autism and SLCN. You will plan engaging lessons and work with Therapists and the school team to create a nurturing learning environment.

The role offers both short-term and long-term opportunities, full-time or part-time, with QTS pay scaled to experience and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
Previous SEN/SEND teaching experience desirable.
Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and/or SLCN.
Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching.
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
Understanding of EHCPs and individualised learning.
Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated SEN lessons.
Support pupils with SEMH, Autism and SLCN.
Deliver learning in line with EHCP outcomes and individual targets.
Build positive relationships and promote confidence, independence and resilience.
Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
Contribute to pupils' wider development and the life of the school.
