Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking passionate Secondary Supply Teachers to support learners across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in secondary schools within the Merthyr Tydfil region. The role involves flexible, ad hoc teaching placements for Year 7, 8, 9 and GCSE classes, offering variety and flexible working hours.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, maintaining positive behaviour, and adapting to different school environments.

Qualifications

• At least one year of teaching experience is required (NQTs may be considered).
• Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent is essential.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council is required; support can be provided for this process.
• Past two years of references with no gaps are needed; Enhanced DBS check current or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to work legally in the UK is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead classrooms and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Manage behaviour to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Prepare classrooms and plan schemes of work when necessary.
• Conduct classroom and lab-based activities in line with school policies.
