Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Secondary Cover Supervisor to support schools across Cwmbran and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible working arrangements with the agency handling paperwork and administration.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, maintain a positive, structured learning environment and leave clear handover notes for teachers returning to the classroom. UK driver’s licence desirable.

Qualifications

• A degree or proven experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, coaching, youth work, or teaching assistant work).
• Ability to lead classrooms, manage discipline and inspire students.
• Willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Responsibilities

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a variety of subjects.
• Creating a dynamic, structured, and safe environment where students can thrive.
• Applying positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
• Offering encouragement and support to help students achieve their daily goals.
• Leaving detailed handover notes to ensure smooth transitions for teachers returning to the classroom.
