Job summary

Padgate Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a confident, creative classroom musician to teach music across the secondary age range, lead extra-curricular ensembles, and help raise department practice within the TCAT Trust.

The role is permanent, full time, with MPS - UPS salary (£32,916 - £51,048 per annum). You will work with colleagues across The Challenge Academy Trust to deliver memorable musical experiences for students.

Qualifications

• QTS and degree; eligible to work and teach in the UK.
• Strong subject knowledge in music and proven classroom practice.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate lessons that improve student progress.
• Competence using assessment and data to set targets.
• Effective behaviour management and inclusive learning environments.
• Good interpersonal skills and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Teach music across the age and ability range with clear, structured lessons.
• Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and set targets.
• Manage behaviour with clear routines and expectations.
• Lead or support extra-curricular music opportunities (ensembles, concerts, trips).
• Analyse performance data to inform planning and intervention.
• Contribute to curriculum development and schemes of work in the Performing Arts.
