Job summary

The Supply Register in Plymouth is seeking a resilient Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools across the area. You will supervise classes during short-term absences, ensuring learners stay engaged and progress continues smoothly.

This flexible role emphasizes strong behaviour management, a calm professional manner, and the ability to build rapport with students. DBS required for safeguarding compliance and ongoing development opportunities may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Manage student behaviour in line with school policies, maintaining a positive, safe learning environment.
• Ensure pupils stay on task, offering support and clarification where needed (teaching is not required).
• Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and completed work.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings, year groups, and subject areas as needed.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
