Job summary

Humphrey Perkins School is seeking a Catering Assistant to support an effective, healthy school food service. The role is 22.5 hours per week across 38.6 weeks per year, with a pro rata FTE salary aligning to the posted figures.

You will assist in meal prep, service, and kitchen hygiene while adhering to Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, and contribute to a positive dining environment for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a catering assistant or equivalent is desirable.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Understand food safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Serve meals/snacks to students and staff.
• Undertake cleaning of kitchen equipment.
• Report equipment faults and safety hazards.
• Cover the food tills at break and lunch times.
• Attend training sessions during term time.
• Assist in cleaning the kitchen and surrounds on specified days.
• Comply with Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation and training.
• Provide catering support for out-of-hours events if required.
