Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a part-time teaching assistant for St Bartholomew’s C of E VA Primary School, Great Harwood. The role involves supporting learning in class and with individuals or small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.

You will join a team dedicated to giving pupils the best possible education in a caring Christian setting. The position is term-time only, up to 28.75 hours per week, with pro rata salary.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• TA qualification NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
• Experience of working with children.

Responsibilities

• Promote positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil learning, behaviour and attainment.
• Have a creative and practical approach to learning.
• Have a good working knowledge of the primary curriculum with strong Numeracy and Literacy skills.
• Experience of working with children with a range of Special Educational and behavioural needs.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Communicate clearly and to a high standard both verbally and in writing.
• Assist in the assessment, monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs.
• Support learning in the classroom.
• Wants to continually develop their skills and knowledge.
• Uphold the Christian values of the School.
