Job summary

Iris Recruitment is seeking a Lecturer in Plumbing & Heating Engineering based in Salisbury. This permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week, 52 weeks) combines teaching with practical industry experience and provides an opportunity to inspire learners across programmes and apprenticeships.

Salary is up to £40,814 per year, plus a Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus of £5,500 pro rata, plus generous benefits including the Teachers' Pension Scheme, 37 days holiday, wellbeing days and CPD support.

Qualifications

• Gas competency required.
• Industry experience in Plumbing & Heating Engineering.
• Strong practical skills and up-to-date knowledge of standards and regulations.
• Experience mentoring others, in workplace or education.
• Teaching qualification welcomed; support for qualification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess learners across Plumbing & Heating programmes and apprenticeships.
• Deliver practical sessions in workshop and classroom environments.
• Support learners in developing industry-standard skills and safe working practices.
• Embed current industry practices, regulations and sustainability principles.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, safeguarding and professionalism.
• Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
