Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a Performing Arts Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Telford. The role covers KS3/KS4, with potential KS5 teaching where appropriate, and focuses on drama, performing arts and creative education.

You will plan engaging lessons, deliver a mix of practical and theoretical content, and contribute to extracurricular activities to boost student confidence and creativity.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Performing Arts or Drama within a UK secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the secondary Performing Arts/Drama curriculum.
• GCSE Drama or Performing Arts teaching is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Performing Arts lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach Drama and Performing Arts, with the opportunity to teach KS5 where appropriate.
• Deliver a mixture of practical and theory-based lessons.
• Create a positive, inclusive and creative classroom environment.
• Support students in developing confidence, creativity and communication skills.
• Differentiate lessons to support students with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support extracurricular activities, performances and enrichment opportunities where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress.
